Whitmore Parish Council would like to say a massive thank you to our Borough Councillor and Parish Councillors who have stepped down this year.
Thank you to Councillor Amy Bryan for all her work with the Borough Council and her seven years as a Parish Councillor. She has brought great energy, creativity, and a can-do attitude to the role. Amy continues to do great work in the Community as a member of the Village Community Association (VCA).
Grateful thanks to Parish Councillor Geoff Corbett who has worked tirelessly for decades on Whitmore Parish Council. He’s been very much our go-to person with an energy and enthusiasm of someone half his age as well as an encyclopaedic knowledge of how Parish Councils work. Geoff is not giving up on Community Service though – the Village Hall are very lucky to count him as a committee member.
We’re incredibly thankful to Councillor Ian Webb who has battled on against Planners, Developers, and the Borough Council to try and stem extensive housing development and the loss of our village identity for over two decades. We’ll miss his in-depth understanding of planning issues and his wisdom and expertise on all matters of local government. Thank you Ian.
Finally, our thanks go to Councillor Richard Corkhill, a great communicator who has been very much our man on the ground, bringing forward community concerns to our Parish Council meetings.
We thank them all for generously giving up their time over the years and their families for sparing them whilst they’ve worked tirelessly for our community. We’ll miss you all.
Cllr Neill Walker
